TMACC to Host Luncheon on Autonomous Vehicles in Chester County

East Whiteland, PA – The Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC) will host their Annual Fall Innovation Luncheon at the Chester Valley Golf Club on November 2, 2017 focused on the planning and integration of autonomous vehicles in Greater Philadelphia and in our communities.

“We are tackling one of the most significant innovation disruptions in history: the autonomous vehicle.” Said TMACC Executive Director, Tim Phelps, “AV Technology, like cars and planes, will alter our future approach to infrastructure, safety standards, the way we commute, our environment…and the amazing thing is that the technology is already here. We are already behind in planning.”

Phelps hand-picked four panelists at the forefront of autonomous vehicle planning: Paul Mackie, Communications Director at Mobility Lab; Roger Cohen, Policy Director at PennDOT and Co-Chair of the PA Autonomous Vehicle Policy Taskforce; Stephen Buckley, Vice President of Planning, Environment and Traffic at WSP; and Jeff Reigner, Vice President at Whitman, Requardt & Associates, Inc.  “Each of our speakers come from diverse backgrounds, which allows us to tackle this difficult planning process from all angles.” said Phelps.

Speakers will discuss autonomous vehicle topics focused on multi-modal planning, PennDOT policies, congestion mitigation and more in the special two hour panel discussion.  Engineers and planners, township officials, business leader and lawyers focused on land planning are encouraged to attend this event in Chester County.
