Malvern, PA – The Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC) is pleased to welcome vRide to TMACC’s membership.
vRide is a ride sharing platform that offers commuters and employers an alternative way to commute. For the past 30 years, vRide has been helping commuters all over the United States save thousand of dollars each year with their system. They specialize in forming carpools and vanpools, where individuals do not need to use their own car-saving them money on genernal maintanence.
Before new legislation PA Governor Tom Wolf signed into law this past July, it was difficult for vRide to market vanpooling and carpooling in PA. The new law makes clear that commuter vanpools and carpools are not regulated by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) and are not subject to the Commonwealth’s motor carrier laws.
As of today, vRide has 80 vanpools set up in Pennsylvania and 7,400 set up nationwide. TMACC is looking forward to helping them grow their number and improve Chester County’s traffic and air quality at the same time.
