PROJECT COORDINATOR: Transportation Demand Management

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Transportation Outreach Project Coordinator will:

  • Manage assigned grant-funded program activities: From design to implementation, this role will execute all tasks associated to the grant portfolio. i.e., Base TDM Grant, and Transportation Options Program (TOP) grant
  • Support Transportation Demand Initiatives: Working with employers and municipalities will advance mode shift strategies through Chester County and Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) initiatives that foster carbon reduction, air quality improvement and congestion mitigation through outreach and education.
  • Support TMACC marketing and outreach: Assist in the creation and management of content for social media, publications, public outreach, and event planning.
  • Support event planning and “day of” activities: Assist in the development of TDM oriented educational programs and activities such as Transportation Briefings and membership meetings, and special events (i.e., Bike to Work and Walk to School).
  • Develop and expand external relationships. Assist in the establishment and nurturing of external relationships such as members, sponsors, and partner organizations. i.e., Chester County Planning Commission, DVRPC, and Chambers of Commerce.
  • Support membership development: Assist in the attraction of new members, retention of the current membership, and securing sponsorships.
  • Other duties that may be assigned related to the organization and execution of the grant portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a combination of skills, experience, and education including, but not limited to the following:

Essential Requirements

  •  The ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
  • Skills and enthusiasm for building and maintaining positive relationships with community members, partners, employers, and outside agencies.
  • Able to engage in creative and strategic thinking, and to work in a growth-mindset.
  • An exceptional level of detail orientation with the ability to prioritize, organize, and problem-solve multiple projects and tasks to meet billable time requirements and project deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • BA/BS degree in communications, marketing, public relations, teaching, business, public administration, psychology, urban studies, planning, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and work experience is acceptable.
  • Experienced and comfortable with digital social media and graphic platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Valid Driver’s License and personal transportation.

Preferred

  • Ability to tell a story.
  • At minimum two years of related work or equivalent educational experience.
  • Working knowledge of regional geography and transportational organization such as DVRPC, PennDOT, SEPTA and Amtrak.
  • Good knowledge of effective engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of TDM policies and programs.

POSITION CLASSIFICATION

This is a full-time, nonexempt position with a salary range between $45,000 and $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience. 37.5-hour work week. Hybrid work environment with TMACC’s office at 7 Great Valley Parkway, Suite 144, East Whiteland, Pennsylvania. Posted typical office hours are 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

Employment, including benefits, is provided through TMACC and offers employees a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, short-term disability, 401(k) savings program, and additional selected benefits. Paid accrued sick time and vacation schedule as well as Federal Holidays.
