PROJECT STATUS: COMPLETE

 

Construction is expected to begin this spring on the latest infrastructure improvements to the US202 corridor in Chester County.  

US202 Section 3RR will rehabilitate the set of bridges that carry north and south bound US202 traffic of the mainline Amtrak lines in East and West Whiteland Townships.  This project was let in November 2016, with the contract being awarded to the lowest bidder, Allen Myers, LP from Warminster, PA at  $26,370,555.00. This overlay of an aerial photo (below) shows the bridges over Amtrak just south of the U.S. 30 Interchange where deck replacements will begin in early 2017.

This project is for rehabilitation of an existing dual six-span steel plate multi-girder bridge, the construction of soldier pile retaining wall along Dunwoody drive, concrete pavement restoration, retrofit of three existing DMS structures , DMS structure near Mall Blvd, installation of new DMS on the SB side and the replacement of the existing DMS on the NB side of an existing structure, CCTV installation on an existing sign structure located north of the Gulph Road intersection, Rehabilitation of Morstein Road bridge over US 202, replacement of two existing cantilever sign structures on southbound SR 0202 for the SR 0030 exit ramp, installation of ITS network elements along SR 0202 and other miscellaneous construction as indicated on the approved drawings for STATE ROUTE 0202, SECTION 3RR, in CHESTER COUNTY, WEST WHITELAND and EAST WHITELAND TOWNSHIPS from approximately 2000 feet South of the SR 0202 Bridge over Dunwoody Drive/Amtrak at segment 0220/0221 offset 1453/1547 to approximately 550 feet South of the SR 1002 (Swedesford Road) Bridge over SR 0202 at segment 0260/0261 offset 3126/3126 .
